FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
PRLog (Press Release) – Apr 04, 2011 – It is high time for Sony stepped in tablet PC market now that this is an unavoidable trend across the whole world, but for so long we haven’t heard any news related to Sony’s tablet. Finally we’ve got a smattering of knowledge of this. It seems that Sony will take plunge in tablet market by bringing out an android 3.0 tablet as the first attempt. Android Honeycomb is definitely the best choice if Sony intends to work on a android tablet, or the tablet would become outdated before it gets unveiled.

There is no more detail about Sony’s new tablet. We have no idea as to that processor the tablet will have, or what impressive features Sony would pour on its first tablet. Probably, we might expect some tablet-oriented games. One thing is sure: it will surely be a high-end tablet which, if not better, will run should to should with Motorola Xoom. The company, through its partnership with Ericsson, has plenty of experience with Android handsets.

It is said that this tablet will launch in US first by the end of this summer, which means we have to wait a couple of month. Sony will have to face very fierce competition at that time in the US market. If Sony is able to grab the customers of their handsets, then Sony’ tablet probably can account for a small share. Things would be simple if Sony had taken action early.

40 Latest Mobile Phones from Nokia

FINLAND: Nokia has planned to launch forty latest mobile phone models in the mobile market this year, with 12 mobile models to be smartphones.
In order to regain or retain its dominance in the smartphones’ market, Nokia would launch twelve new smartphones. The mobile price range of these latest mobile models is yet to be disclosed. However, according to the ‘Worldwide Quarterly Mobile Phone Tracker’ report by IDC (International Data Corp.), Android remains to be the favorite with the masses followed by Blackberry, iOS powered iPhone, Symbian, Windows Phone 7. The IDC report shows what the mobile market could look like in the coming years. Wonder where Nokia will stand in the smartphone market.

Sprint launches Novatel MiFi 3G / 4G mobile hotspot

This one's been floating around since way back in December, but Novatel's new 3G / 4G MiFi is now finally available from Sprint -- albeit only via direct ship, Sprint retail channels will get it on April 17th. It will run you $79.99 on a two-year contract, and comes packing Novatel's rather novel MiFi OS, which is actually a stripped-down version of Linux that lets you take advantage of various widgets and applications. It's also GPS enabled, and has a microSD card slot that allows for up to 32GB of shared storage.

Samsung Galaxy S2 gets boosted to 1.2GHz

The latest phone to have a crack at the Android superphone crown, the Samsung Galaxy S2 has just got a little bit more superphone-y, according to the company's Estonian Facebook page.
The move to dual-core 1.2GHz processors puts the phone at the top of the smartphone power list by some distance (on raw specs alone) so it's a pretty safe bet to assume Samsung is doing this for marketing purposes rather than simply to improve performance.
As much as we'd like to pretend we look at the Samsung Estonian Facebook page, the news comes from GSM Arena, which has also spoken to 'internal sources' to confirm the update - we're hammering Samsung now to see if the UK is getting the same treatment.
This is the (rather murkily translated) announcement from the page:
"Super news! S II processor, the 1.2GHz Galaxy (1.0GHz instead of the previously mentioned). It is Samsung S Galaxy II, the fastest dual-core smartphone Gingerbread painting!"
Rumours of its demise...
And we've also spoken to Samsung to see if the rumours of the Galaxy S2 delay until May (which some retailers are claming) are true, as it would make sense that if there's a new component being popped in there, it could take a little bit longer to produce.
But it seems all is OK, as the Korean company has said the launch (likely including the Galaxy S2 UK release) will still happen later this month:
"Samsung Galaxy S II will be first released in April, as planned. It will be gradually rolled out in each market according to the local launch timetable."
So all you dual-core Samsung fans... breathe, and relax.

Nokia Sleeping Screen: soothing low power notification for Symbian

Nokia's cooked up a rather lovely and useful new app in its beta labs realm for all you lucky Symbian owners: Nokia Sleeping Screen. Now rather than simply seeing a blank sleeping device you'll be awash in useful info like message notifications, time and date, missed calls, and even a night clock mode that further dims the display while you rest your weary eyes. The display mode used isn't bright and instead of rendering the entire screen, all the icons are drawn using small circles -- which we assume further reduces the energy required -- and the app even goes to sleep while covered in a pocket or a bag. The only negative in the list is that apparently the phone can't be used as a flashlight while Sleeping Screen is running -- but we expect those enjoying the soothing cool hues won't mind that too much. Honestly, this seems like nothing but useful to us, and if Nokia's claim of not significantly impacting battery life is to be believed, may well be a must-have app.
