new sony ericsson camera phones

One of the major features of mobile phones in recent years has been the incorporation of a digital camera. The first smartphones to do so offered only limited photo-capabilities, often around 2 megapixels.
Nokia was the first to increase this massively to 12 megapixels. Sony however has now gone even further. The company’s latest handset, the S006, will sport a massive 16 megapixel camera, something that will surely attract the more serious photographer.
Sony’s new device will come equipped with an Exmore R 16 megapixel CMOS sensor, which can capture not only large, crystal clear images, but also video at an impressive 60FPS 720P.
Sony Ericsson announced the unveiling of the Exmor R technology in June 2008, with the S006 being the first device to feature it. Exmor R promises to produce superior quality images even in environments with very poor lighting, such as those illuminated by candle light.
However, some experts are wondering how well the new feature will compare to images produced by the Nokia N8, which has received favourable reviews. Time will obviously tell, and Sony Ericsson certainly has faith in its new technology.
As far as the smartphone is concerned, the handset also contains the usual features any good handset is expected to have, including Bluetooth and WiFi; it’s also powered by a 1GHz Snapdragon microprocessor.
Oddly enough, Sony Ericsson has opted to use its own proprietary operating system, something experts have criticised in the past.
