Tata Docomo revolutionized the Indian telecom Industry by launching pay per second tariff plans last year. Airtel, Reliance, Idea, BSNL and almost all other mobile phone networks in Indiafollowed their path and that ended up in a mobile tariff war inIndia. So far, they have managed to add around 40 million customers through their attractive tariff offers an innovative advertisement campaigns. As per the latest announcement, Tata Docomo is setting up for 3G rollout in India. On coming November 5, they will be become the first private service provider in Indiawith commercial 3G services. Tata Docomo’s parent company NTT Docomo offers 3G in Japan from 2001, and they are on the process moving to the 4.5G service in their home country.
With a 3G network, people will be able make video calls, play HD games, watch online TV and surf the internet at broadband speeds right from their mobile phone. Tata Docomo 3G speed will range from 144 kbps up-to 2.4 mbps. New and existing Tata Docomo customers should get any 3G enabled handset before applying for migration to 3G data services.
Tata Docomo 3G tariff plans
As of this moment BSNL is the only 3G provider in India. Although they got the 3G license much before the private providers, still the penetration of their service is too low. With Tata Docomo entering the 3G arena, we hope that the technology will be available in more locations and at a competitive pricing. Being one of the frontiers of the 3G technology, Docomo knows the requirements for setting up the service than any other provider. Most of their towers are already equipped to work with 3G. Tata Docomo currently has the 3G license in Kerala, Maharashtra, Gujarat, Punjab, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Goa, Rajasthan, Chattisgarh (Madhya Pradesh), Karnataka. The service is set to commence from November 5, and the tariff plans will be available on the same date.
