nokia x2 300x270 Low cost Nokia X2 2001 with price tag of 150$ to be launched soonNokia is launching a low cost mobile phone X2-2001 by the end of this year.
While improving their smartphones running on Symbian, the Finnish company Nokia has not forgotten about the conventional phones built on the Series 40 platform. Such devices, though less popular, are still in demand by users, and therefore the company is not going to give up their production. The latest creation of Nokia, based on Series 40 is a monobloc X2-2001, which has recently been tested by a Chinese organization TENAA, completely analogous to U.S. FCC. This mobile phone can not be simply called as a basic one. Yes, its body is a monobloc, but instead of numeric keypad it has a comfortable QWERTY.
Nokia X2-2001 will go on sale by the end of this year, but as per reports, this model is exclusively designed for the Asian mobile market. However, it has not been officially confirmed yet, but there is little chance of its appearance in the European market. X2-01 is a middle class phone, and is unlikely to cost more than 150-170 U.S. dollars. It has all the basic features like a 3.2 megapixel camera, Bluetooth, slot for microSD cards and USB-interface to synchronize with your computer. Additional features of Nokia X2-2001 include FM-tuner, and widgets to access the social network Facebook and Twitter. As a bonus, Nokia has added WiFI and GPS, but the phone is not compatible with third generation networks. Dimensions of Nokia X2-2001 are 120x60x14 mm, and it weighs 115 grams.
