LG recently announced their latest Android smartphone, the LG Optimus 2X, and we recently heard that one UK online retailer was offering it for pre-order, SIM free for £499.99.
Now it seems that the LG Optimus 2X will also be available with UK mobile phone network Vodafone, although it is being offered by the same online retailer on Vodafone for free is customers sign up to either an 18 month or 24 month contract.
It isn’t clear whether this deal is exclusive to this online retailer, and whether or not Vodafone will start selling the Optimus 2X direct, so it may be worth waiting before ordering one as Vodafone may offer a better deal direct.
The LG Optimus 2X comes with a dual core 1GHz NVIDIA Tegra 2 processor, there is also a 4 inch WVGA touchscreen display, plus 8GB of built in storage.
The Optimus 2X also features a microSD card slot which can take up to 32GB cards, and there is an 8 megapixel camera on the back and a 1.3 megapixel camera on the front for video chat.
When the LG Optimus 2X goes on sale it will come with Android 2.2, but LG have said that they will be upgrading the Optimus 2X to Android 2.3 Gingerbread shortly after the smartphone goes on sale
